Creating Space is a focus timer and app blocker for iPhone. It helps you put your phone down and actually protect the time you meant to spend on something else: a hike, dinner with your family, a deep work session, whatever the moment calls for.

Every time you follow through, your own personal night sky grows, with stars turning into constellations and constellations into something bigger. It is real enforcement, the block is real rather than a suggestion, wrapped in something worth looking forward to.

Most apps in this category make you pick one of two things: a hard block with no charm, or a charming reward system that falls apart the second something real happens, like a phone call, an emergency, a moment you genuinely needed your phone.

Creating Space is built to do both at once. The block is real, backed by Apple's own Screen Time technology, and it has an honest pause built in for real life, not just a streak that ends the moment you need it to bend.

No. There is no sign in, no account to create, no email or password. Open the app and it is yours.

Not currently. Creating Space is built for iPhone only, running iOS 17 or later.

A Focus Session is something you start on demand: you pick a length, choose what to block, and it runs until you finish or pause it.

A Schedule is something you set once and it protects a recurring window automatically, like family dinner every weeknight or your phone staying blocked overnight, without you having to remember to start anything.

Yes. There is a real pause built in, on purpose. It freezes the clock rather than skipping time, so you do not lose credit for time already spent focused.

If you do not manually resume, it automatically picks back up after 15 minutes, so a pause cannot quietly turn into the rest of the day.

Screen Time access, which is Apple's Family Controls permission, is what lets the app actually block the apps you choose. Without it there is no real enforcement, just a suggestion. It is the same underlying technology Apple's own Screen Time and Downtime features use.

Creating Space never sees which specific apps you have chosen to block. Apple keeps that information private even from the apps using this technology, by design.

You can still use Creating Space without it, though blocking will not be active until you turn it on. You can enable it any time from your iPhone's Settings, whenever you are ready. Nothing about your progress is lost in the meantime.

It is not an astronomy app. The sky is borrowed for how it feels, not what it teaches. Wonder, scale and beauty are what time reclaimed from your phone deserves to look like, rather than a checklist or a chart. Each star represents a real day you followed through.

Nothing is lost forever. A missed day dims your most recent star rather than erasing your progress, and it heals back the moment you follow through again.

It takes three missed days in a row before a star actually goes dark, and even then your full history, every session and every day, good or missed, stays exactly as it happened in your stats. Recovery only affects how your in progress sky looks, never the honest record underneath it.

Yes. Stars come from Focus Sessions, but there is a separate track, the Moon, that fills based on real, verified time your Schedules have protected. So if blocking distractions on autopilot is mostly what you use the app for, you still have something growing too.

If you are signed into iCloud, your progress syncs privately across your own devices automatically, using Apple's private iCloud database. Nobody but you can see it, not even us.

If you are not signed into iCloud, or choose to stay signed out, the app still works fully and normally, entirely on your device.

Yes. Both live under Settings. You can reset your universe and start fresh, or export your data, any time you want.

No. There is no advertising, no advertising identifier, and no attribution or install measurement, and nothing you do is tied to you.

Two things are measured, both anonymously. The app reports a short, fixed list of events about how far people get through setup, and it sends a crash log when it crashes. Neither carries anything you typed. After setup nothing is measured at all: we do not know how many sessions you have run or which screens you have opened.

There are exactly two third party frameworks in the app. RevenueCat handles purchases, and PostHog handles those anonymous events and crash logs. Everything else is Apple's own. The privacy policy lists every event by name.

Two things, and that is the whole list. iCloud sync, which travels between your device and your Apple Account. And purchase traffic to Apple and RevenueCat when you buy, restore or renew.

RevenueCat receives the transaction and what the App Store says about it: which product, when, whether it is still active, whether it is in a trial. The only identifier attached is an anonymous one it generates for that install. Your name, your sessions, your streak and your sky are never part of it.

Your name, your email address and your message are stored in a Postgres database hosted by Supabase, on servers in the United States, so that we can answer you. We use it to answer you and to understand what people are having trouble with. Nothing else.

It is kept until your request is resolved, and no more than twelve months after that. None of it is connected to anything in the app, to your iCloud, or to your purchase record, because the app has no identifier to share.

Thirteen. Where your local law sets a higher minimum age for consenting to digital services, that age applies instead.

Yes, on both subscriptions. Monthly and Annual each start with a 7 day free trial. Cancel any time in that first week and you will not be charged anything.

The Lifetime option is a one time purchase rather than a subscription, so it does not include a trial period.

Subscriptions are managed the same way as any other iPhone app: the Settings app, your name at the top, then Subscriptions.

Creating Space does not handle billing directly. That is all through Apple, so cancelling there is all it takes.

Refunds go through Apple, not through us directly. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Apple handles it from there.
